The regular membership year runs from January 1st through December 31st, and costs $100/person including Juneau sales tax. We also have a half-year membership which runs from August 1st through December 31st, and costs $50/person including sales tax. The membership application is online (www.juneauyc.org/join/; renewal invoices will be emailed at the end of the year so please make sure we have your correct email address. We appreciate your prompt renewal so that we can keep our records up to date more easily and so that you can continue to use your Yacht Club benefits without a break

JYC Discounted Rentals for Members:  Effective 2/11/2025

Current members, who have been a member in good standing for over one year, are entitled to receive one half-priced rental each year.  The rental needs to be made by the member and in the member’s name.  The discounted rate includes a 1 hour allowance for cleaning.  If the facility requires any additional cleaning, the charge for the Custodian’s time will be deducted from the required refundable damage/cleaning deposit.

This discount does not apply to events for the benefit of nonprofits (e.g., fund raisers) as the Club has a separate discount for nonprofits.  (See Club Rental General page)

Members should check available dates on the online Calendar and contact the Rental Agent for questions and information.

Children Policy

Children are welcome to attend the dinners and social events, however, if you do bring your kids, remember that it is your responsibility to ensure that their behavior and actions do not impact other members’ enjoyment of the Club or the rental of the club (renters frequently come to the social hours to view the facility). It is important that there is no running in the club and conduct is appropriate. Please provide activities to keep your kids occupied while at our events.

Dog Policy

The Yacht Club is a dog free building. Please refrain from bringing your pooch with you to social hours or other Yacht Club events. And if you walk your dog around the building, please remember to properly dispose of anything your dog leaves behind. Thank you.

Food Allergies Policy

Being a volunteer organization, the Juneau Yacht Club does not accept liability for food allergen exposure. Members and guests are completely responsible for their own allergen control.

Members will be given notice of each meal menu.  Members or guests may ask the cooks whether they are aware of specific allergens present in the meal.  The cooks’ awareness or lack of awareness of allergens does not necessarily guarantee the absence or presence of any allergens in the meal.  Cooks are not required to research the presence of allergens in meal ingredients.  If members or guests have any allergy concerns, they are encouraged to refrain from eating any items in question and are welcome to bring their own food or to eat elsewhere.

Due to the busyness of the kitchen and limited kitchen space, the kitchen should not be expected to be available for preparation or reheating of individual member meals.

Event Guest Policy

Guests of JYC Members, Presenters, other yacht club Reciprocal Members, and Non-Members interested in joining the Juneau Yacht Club are welcome to any of our Clubhouse functions and activities with some restrictions, as follow:

All Non-Members attending JYC Clubhouse functions where alcoholic beverages are served must be hosted by an active Member of the Club.  If the Non-Member does not already have a Host, one will be assigned upon entry. Hosts are responsible for signing in their Guest(s) in the Guest Book at the Cashier’s Station.  (Bar Hosts on duty for an event may not host a Guest at that event.)

Drink chips for alcoholic beverages (and dinner tickets) are sold by the Cashier at the event. Due to restrictions in our liquor license, only Club Members may purchase drink chips, order alcoholic beverages, use chips to be served alcoholic beverages, or purchase dinner tickets for events that include wine or other alcoholic beverages in the price of the dinner.

However, after being served alcoholic beverages, Club Members may gift those beverages to a Guest. Also, if a Guest offers to reimburse the Host for those gifts, the reimbursement cannot occur on-premises (new liquor license requirement).

Guests may independently purchase most dinner tickets and be served non-alcoholic beverages; but may not purchase drink chips, use drink chips to buy alcoholic beverages, be directly served alcoholic beverages by the Bar Hosts or purchase dinner tickets for events that include wine or other alcoholic beverages in the price of the dinner (e.g., Christmas Dinner).  Presenters’ dinner tickets will be hosted by the Club.

No one under 21 may purchase alcoholic beverages or drink chips nor consume alcoholic beverages in the Clubhouse or on the Deck. Sodas, club soda, tonic, and other non-alcoholic beverages are free of charge to Club Members and Guests. Alcoholic beverages must be consumed within the Clubhouse or on the Deck. Unconsumed alcoholic beverages may not be removed from the premises. No alcoholic beverages, other than those supplied by the Club, may be brought into the Clubhouse or on the Deck or consumed therein.
