Membership Requirements of the Juneau Yacht Club

The Juneau Yacht Club is incorporated for the purpose of promoting yachting and boating of all kinds and development of the advantages of marine recreational activities, with emphasis on the Southeast Alaska region.

In order to become a member of the Club, you must:

  1.  Have an interest in boating and the activities of the Juneau Yacht Club.       
    (While you do not need to be living in Juneau full-time, you should either have a boat based here or periodically visiting here, have a friend or relative with a boat you ride on here, have lived or boated in Juneau in the past, and you must visit Juneau and the Club periodically.  In some circumstances, you will not be required to currently own a boat.).

  2. Have a current JYC Member sponsor you 
    (If you do not know any current members, drop by one of our Thursday Socials and introduce yourself to any of our members. Describe your interest in joining and you will probably have made a new friend and sponsor.)

  3. Be willing and able to contribute time and/or effort to the operation of the club.
    (This can be volunteering at our Socials or Membership dinners, activity in our committees or simply attending Socials or Dinners.)

  4. Apply for membership on our online form.
    (Your application will be reviewed by our Membership Committee and, if you meet membership requirements, recommended for approval to the Board of Directors.)

  5. Pay your Club dues
    (Current dues are $100.00 per person per year including Juneau sales tax.)
